There are many layers underneath our skin, such as muscles, bone, and fat pads. Overtime, these layers lose their strength and structure, contributing to the signs of aging such as volume loss, folds, deep wrinkles, and sagging.
Dermal fillers are dissolvable fillers that are injected strategically to restore facial volume and enhance features to make you look more lifted, rested, refreshed, and youthful.

What are the side effects and complications?
Swelling and tenderness is expected, especially in the first 2-3 days of treatment. There is always a minimal risk of bruising as we are dealing needles and cannulas, however, bruising will disappear after a few days. A very rare complication is vascular occlusion where filler is injected into an artery or vein, and prevents blood flow and oxygenation to surrounding tissue. This can result in tissue necrosis, stroke, and blindness; however, this is very rare, and occlusions can be reversed and well-managed. Other rare complications include infection, allergic reactions, and granulomas.
When will I see results and how long do they last?
Dermal fillers give instant results, however, the true results are shown after 2 weeks when swelling and bruising have gone down. Areas injected will have more volume and hydration, and you will look more refreshed and rejuvenated. Dermal fillers usually last around 12-18 months, however, individual results vary depending on age, lifestyle, filler used, and area and amount injected. Maintenance treatments should be performed yearly to maintain results as dermal fillers are not permanent as they are naturally metabolized by your body overtime.
